Stylist | Anna Katsanis

When I started up the Lilylovelock clothing and accessories label last summer. It wasn't only the designing and producing of the pieces that I found interesting I realised that the area of the creative process I enjoyed most was where I could style the clothing for the lookbooks.  So much so that this year I'm devoting more time to styling and hopefully I'll have the opportunity to really build on my portfolio. For me it's not only about dressing a model but about appreciating the message you'd like to portray and creating a piece of art that is not only visually inspiring but will get some sort of reaction from it's viewer.  So if we're talking about styling being a certain type of art then the stylist must be the artist right? Well one artist that continually inspires me to become a better stylist with each job I undertake is Anna Katsanis. If you're a regular reader of the blog you'll be familiar with this name as I'm sure I display her work at least twice a year (it's impossible not to) Anna was born in Greece but now resides in New York City, her inspiration is usually derived from an eclectic mix of  European and American culture, architecture, religion, art film and theatre.
